We are mostly done for the semester, but we still have online workshops and one more social event. See below.

Upcoming Social

April 10, 2025 from 4pm to 6pm.

We sent the location to members via email. Contact your nearest sticker owner for details.

Please support your safe colleagues by inviting them to join you at this event.

We all need this chance to vent, relax, connect, and regroup in a supportive atmosphere.

But this is also serious business. Growing networks and strengthening ties is our most important job right now.

Safe Zone is a voluntary organization.

If you wish to offer mandatory training to a class, office, or organization, please consider options that may be available from JMU. If the resources you need to do your job are not available at JMU, please inform your supervisor and consider contacting your state and congressional representatives.

Please be gentle with us.

There are thousands of you and only a few of us. We are not an office of the university; we have no staff and no budget. We are just a few volunteers from around the university who are already fully employed and over-committed in our day jobs.

Safe Zone
Safe Zone is a voluntary organization of allies in the JMU community, and we each participate with Safe Zone for our own individual reasons (moral obligations, empathy for others, disciplinary ethical responsibilities, etc.). All views expressed in our capacities as Safe Zone members are our own and do not necessarily represent the views of James Madison University or any other organization.

We are not alone.  You are not alone.
